New Beginnings

A new year has begun and, as always, there's a hint of new beginnings in the air. We're back from our little winter break and wish you all nothing but the best for 2023!

I was the first to arrive back here this past weekend. Everything was empty, cold and clammy and suddenly I noticed how much our old house has suffered from the last months without heating. Condensed water is pooling all over the place. Mildew stains and strange lichens mark the wavy wallpaper. In a few corners, cracks have formed in the masonry. And there is a new scuffed green steel door next to the the pantry. I ignore it as best I can.

Other than that, we're all full of beans. I've taken advantage of the calm between the years and there are several new ideas floating around in my head now. Meanwhile the rest of the collective is trickling in one by one and I'm dying to finally get back to making music. Tonight we'll meet for the first rehearsal of the year.
