You remember the strange mushroom that Leo had found? No one could identify it. But of course I took your urgent appeals to keep our hands or rather our tongues off it very seriously. So I only went to bed after I had made Leo promise solemnly not to touch the mushroom.
When I came downstairs the next day, I found Till lying on the floor in the fireplace room. His head was in a large flowerpot, his hands and arms smeared with dirt and blood. The palm tree, whose pot now served as a headwear, dangled from the ceiling lamp. The walls were daubed with brownish-red patterns and symbols. After I had convinced myself that Till was breathing, I went to make breakfast.
Till's version of the story goes something like this: Leo had persuaded him to try at least a small bite of the mushroom. At first, nothing unusual happened. Then he got a little dizzy. Little worms suddenly crawled in through the walls, but they thought they were quite cute. He was overcome by a great desire to dance, but soon also by rather unpleasant heart palpitations. And then the Drudes came. Silent and black and terribly slow, they approached him to sit on his chest and cut off his air. The only way to save himself was to put something massive and heavy over his head. Then you were immune to them, Leo had told him. He didn't have a plausible explanation for the smearings on the wall and the palm tree in the lamp.
Till was really miserable, but he doesn´t seem to be in any serious danger. In the meantime, he is almost back to his old self, even though he seems to be genuinely embarrassed by the whole incident. The bigger problem is that Leo has disappeared without a trace since that evening. As you know, this is not unusual, but after this whole story, I'm a little worried. When she still wasn't there at noon today, Till went out to look for her. I don't know what he hopes to find. It's quite possible that she simply ran into the forest on Saturday night, driven by hallucinations. But three days later, she certainly won't be found there anymore. Assuming she is still alive. We have no clue as to where she might be. All that remains is to trust that she will reappear at some point, as she always does.
